I am using NOOBS V2.4.5. on a *8Gig Micro SD card to start with.
formating the Micro SD card using SD Formatter on a Laptop,
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/index.html,
and extracting the files from the download ZIP folder onto the newly re-formatted micro SD card the micro SD card was extracted from the Laptop, inserted into the Raspberry PI, all connectors made, HDMI, Keyboard and finaly 2.5AMP USB power lead.
Hey Presto, the default install screen came to life.
a few minutes passes while the OS is automatically installed onto the micro SD card.
About half way through the install failed.
restarted - this time connecting to Wi-Fi before restarted installed.
All went OK this time - installation Successful :-)

In the Beginning .....
this is my journey in building a robot, something i've wanted to do for some time, but never gotten around to it.
So at the end of the second decade of the 21st Century, the time is right.
this is my journey, hopefully a long a fruitful journey, and feel free to join me, i need all the help i can get.
so today, starting witha second hand Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2 we start the journey.
